Last year’s attempt at involving Adelaide in the pumpkin cleaning was less than successful. I was very hopeful that this year, she would actually have fun playing with all of the seeds and slimy stringy stuff inside our pumpkin.
Here is her initial reaction:
After having a good laugh, we coaxed her into sticking her hand inside the pumpkin by offering her a scooper. It worked! And she actually kind of enjoyed herself!
After the pumpkin was cleaned out, Adelaide’s ability to participate ended, so we got her started on a new project—painting her pumpkin!
We rinsed the paint off a few times and let her start over, but here is her finished product:
If you can’t tell, there is a face…with two eyes, a nose, a mouth, ears and hair on the chin, because daddy has hair on his chin. She’s a pretty big daddy’s girl.
And here is how our carved pumpkin turned out:
Happy Halloween!
I'd love to hear what you think!
