Cadence’s hair has been getting pretty shaggy. The hair all along the back of her head grew in first and faster than the rest of her hair—we’re still waiting for the hair on the top and sides of her head really grow in.
You might remember her first little hair cut I gave her back in December for the same reason…too mullet-like for my taste. Well, we were approaching mullet status again…
I was holding out hope that I could put her hair into cute little pigtails and use that as her go-to style while we waited for the rest of her hair to grow in, but she hates pig tails…
So I did it again. I cut Cadence’s hair 🙂 I gotta say, I love a toddler pixie cut on her! It frames her little face so perfectly. I think short hair really suits her, whereas I still miss Adelaide’s long hair and lack of bangs. Anywho! Here are the before and afters from her little hair cut today! Please forgive the totally zombie look she has in EVERY photo…I had her sitting at the table, watching Tinker Bell. She was into it!
And some more, super cute afters. I think she’s always going to be wearing a headband or hair clip now. It’s just too cute not to!
So there it is! Cadence’s new pixie cut!

Hi! Love your daughter’s haircut! Just want to know if you’re a pro haircutter or at least studied haircutting? I’m not both but I used to cut my firstborn’s hair straight. Wanna know if I can do a pixie on my toddler. Thanks!

Great question! No, I am not a professional hair stylist/cutter or anything else having to do with the esthetician arts. Just a mom! My advice is to go slow, take as much time as your little one will allow, and cut little bits at a time. You can always cut more, but you can’t put any back! Good luck!!

I actually came here trying to find a tutorial for the exact same mullet problem! What was your method?? Did you have any resources as a guide or did you just go for it??

I love this haircut! I’m going to show it to the hairdresser before my 2 year old’s hair cut this weekend. PS – I love the variety of snacks in your daughter’s bowl. These toddlers have us all running scared ;). – Krissy MT 2 girls in Boston
