For Valentine’s Day, my girls are handing out puzzle valentines! I’m a big fan of giving activities, or experiences instead of things or sweets, so these puzzles were a great find!
I found these 4-inch color-your-own puzzles on Oriental Trading’s website. They regularly have “free-shipping with no minimum purchase” promotions, so I took advantage of one of those sales in January. At $0.24/puzzle, they definitely fit in my budget for classroom valentines.
I had some small clear plastic bags on hand from a previous craft, but these clear celo bags would be a good size for the puzzles. Plain sandwich bags would work as well, but since they’re wider than the puzzles and bag topper, you’ll have to fold the corners in under the bag toppers.
You can choose to put the puzzles in the bags assembled, or unassembled. The addition of a one or two small markers is a thoughtful touch.
The free printable bag topper reads, “Friends fit together, Valentine!”. It’s free to download and print as many copies as you need!
Print the bag toppers on bright white card stock for the best results.
Be sure to have your kids sign their name to the tags before you attached them to the bags—it’s easier when the paper is flat!
To assemble these puzzle valentines, place the puzzle in the bag, fold the paper tags in half and place over the top of the bags, then staple them in place.
That’s all there is to it!
I'd love to hear what you think!
