One of my favorite Christmas traditions with Adelaide, has been making cut-out cookies. You can see previous years’ cookie-making here and here.
This year, I used this recipe for The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies and that title is no hyperbole—they really are amazing! I added a teaspoon of almond extract (not called for in the recipe) and I really liked the added flavor. DELISH!
The day after we frosted the cookies, Adelaide’s countdown activity called for hot cocoa and cookies with mommy! (Yup, I planned it that way). Our hot cocoa recipe is a favorite—1 Tablespoon of real maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon of cocoa powder (with no sugar added) per 8oz of warm milk. Tasty and void of processed sugar! (She’s getting enough processed sugar in those cookies!)
Here’s our cookie making activity in pictures.
