On Monday I leave for Palm Springs for an entire week—just me and Matt! You won’t see regular posts from me, but you can follow along on Instagram. And you can expect a big recap post on Monday the 27th!
I have a confession to make… I haven’t exercised even the tiniest bit since the Fall. Eek! With my Palm Springs trip on the horizon, I made a big commitment to get back in shape so I could ENJOY MYSELF on my vacation!
I decided to try Beach Body’s 21 Day Fix, and I have to say…I kind of love it! Is that crazy?? I never thought of myself as the type to get in on these fitness trends…they just make it so easy!
A SERIOUSLY intense 30 minutes workout fits easily into my morning routine. Even the mornings I wake up and feel like the last thing I want to do is work out, I can wrap my brain around 30 minutes.
The nutrition part of the plan is a bit daunting. They set you at a calorie deficient, so you really see results in a short amount of time, but I have to say, I loved the challenge. Instead of snacking on cheese and crackers, I snacked on apples, blueberries, bell peppers and carrots.
The meals required advanced preparations (like grilling extra chicken breasts for the week), but after I got into that routine, it became easy.
A big help during these past three weeks has been my FitSnack box. Have you tried FitSnack yet? They’re a subscription service that stocks your pantry each month with healthy snacks.
My FitSnacks were frequent diet savers! I’d be approaching the hangries, and open my pantry to grab something quick, and be so, so, so grateful to have some pre-packaged nuts, seeds, veggie chips, energy bars, etc, ready to eat.
Give them a try and see if they’re right for you!
On the 21 day fix program, I started seeing results after just one week! And now, at the end of my 21 days, I haven’t lost a ton of weight (4 pounds), but I’ve seen tremendous gains in my strength. For example, at the beginning, I couldn’t hold a plank for more than 15 seconds. Now, I can consistently hold 1 minute planks! Woo!
I’m so excited to lay by the pool, and be comfortable in my swimsuit next week!
I’d love to know, what do you do to stay fit? Are you a gym rat? Fad dieter? Fun runner? Frequent fitness challenge participant? What works for you?
