We had buckets of snow yesterday…BUCKETS! So much snow, that they actually cancelled school! Let me tell you…that never happens in Colorado!
To be honest, I didn’t mind the snow day. It was a wonderfully slow day in the middle of the craziest month of the year. We made hot cocoa, stayed in our jammies allll day, watched tv, listened to Christmas music, baked cookies, ate cookies, and just enjoyed each other.
One of the activities I pulled out for the kids was the Crayola Cling Creator.
Full disclosure: Crayola sent this activity to me to try, free of charge, but trust me, I wouldn’t be writing about it, if we didn’t truly enjoy it!
Adelaide loves this activity—she says it makes her feel like a scientist! It’s definitely for the older elementary age (8+ years).
You have to mix two (provided) compounds together, at the right quantities, to insure the clings set properly. Too much of compound A or not enough of compound B, and the cling will never set! Luckily, Crayola makes it pretty easy to get it right, and have a lot of fun along the way.
The molds the kit comes with are certainly fun, but we decided to get in the Christmas spirit and used a cookie cutter in the shape of an ornament, along with the provided clay, to create ornament shaped clings!
Don’t forget the glitter! We added gold and white glitter to our clings, because everything is better with a little sparkle 😀
Making the clings was absolutely an Adelaide activity, but using the clings to decorate the window tree is fun for any age!
I'd love to hear what you think!
