My baby is getting so big, so fast! I can’t believe she’s only four months away from TWO!!!! What!?!
I’m officially done stating her age in months. I can’t bring myself to answer “she’s 20 months old”, since it just sounds ridiculous. So now I’m telling people that “she’s almost two”. Woa. She just got really old, really fast!
Here is the picture collage of Cadence, from 1-month to 20-months!
Here’s the collage I made for Adelaide.
Cadence communicates so well now! Not only is her vocabulary expanding exponentially each day, but now she’s participating in conversations! My favorite little thing she does right now is answer “yes” or “no” to questions. And she really thinks about her answer!! I don’t know why this is so remarkable to me, but I’ve been asking her rhetorical questions for 20 months, and now she’s actually answering me!
She sings! OMG her little voice singing makes my soul smile! Her favorite song right now is Row, row, row your boat. She asks for it by name (“Row Row, Mommy!”) every nap time and bed time. She also sings the alphabet song, twinkle twinkle, and Edelweiss. Yes, you read that correctly. My 20 month-old toddler sings Edelweiss. I’m still trying to get her on video! Just wait, I’ll prove it!
When she wants me to watch her she says “Do you?” over and over again until I say, “Yes, Cadence, I do!” and then she hangs like a monkey off our kitchen counter.
The other way she gets my attention is by yelling, “MOMMEEEEEE!” as loud as she can. Often repeating herself with such frequency and volume that she can’t hear me responding. Can’t wait until she grows out of this one!
She adores her big sister and wants to do everything EXACTLY like Adelaide. Adelaide has no idea of the total power she possesses over her little sister. (And please don’t inform her! Thank you!) Cadence is always quick to make her big sister feel better when she’s upset, even if it means handing over the toy Cadence is currently playing with. Now that’s love!
She’s working so hard on jumping, but just can’t manage to get both feet off the ground at the same time. It’s adorable.
She’s learning her letters and numbers and shapes. Her favorites to point out are, S, O, 3, circles, squares and diamonds. And thanks to Adelaide, she can also identify several Disney Princesses—Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Rapunzel and Tiana.
She loves books! Her favorite bedtime books right now are “Goodnight Moon” and “The Little Mouse The Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear”. She’s also started enjoying the Olivia books! Woo!
I’m sure there are a million things I’m leaving out about our sweet little 20-month-old, but for now thats all I can think of!
Here are some pictures of Cadence from this past month. Enjoy!
