Today wraps up a week of inspiring eye candy from fifteen talented bloggers—the Fall 2014 Tour of Homes! I’m thrilled to be participating, though I feel out-of-my-league next to these ladies.
Today, Debbie from Refresh Restyle and Kim from Too Much Time are joining me and sharing photos of their homes all decked out for fall! Be sure to check out their blogs, as well as the blogs from earlier this week, listed at bottom of this post.
I wish I had a whole house to share with you, but alas, life with littles gets busy fast and all I managed to finish was our downstairs bathroom (which, for the sake of sophistication I will from here on, be referring to as the “powder room”).
It’s tiny, and heavily used, and with the plain beige walls, builders-grade cabinetry, countertops, and white trim, was epically boring. Here’s how I transformed the tiniest of spaces into a visually interesting place to spend a moment of your day.
The wow factor in the room is this show-stopping removable wall paper from Design Your Wall.
I would have loved to cover this back wall with real, actual wood, but since we’re renting, my options are limited. This removable wallpaper is such a great product for temporary spaces—or even just a space you’re not sure about!
The paper is much thicker than I anticipated, which makes it easy to install. I completed this whole wall in just under an hour! The thickness helps hide the wall texture too, which adds to the authenticity of the look. I’m really impressed by it!

The print is from A Grape Design—I absolutely love her style! All of her illustrations are gorgeous!
These leaf frames are my other favorite part of the room.
I used the glycerin method of preserving the leaves—and while the colors didn’t stay as well as I would have liked, it did keep them flexible! Maybe next year I’ll try the wax method for preserving leaves.
Fall foliage and produce is the easiest way to update your decor with the change of seasons. Cadence helped me collect the pinecones from our backyard, and these little pumpkin candles are SOOO easy to make!
The day after I made the pumpkin candles, I went back and added another layer of wax, that completely covered the tops of the pumpkins, to help preserve them.
