Adelaide has been blessed with a beautiful head of hair. She was born with a ton of hair, and it’s been growing ever since! She’s almost three now, and she’s never had a haircut! lately, her hair has been getting pretty long and scraggly (yes, that’s a word) so I decided it was time for a haircut!
I did some brief research online to find a specialty kids salon, and decided on Sit Still. It turned out to be SUPER cute! Bright colors, lots of toys, friendly staff and of course, fun cars as salon chairs.
Adelaide was immediately drawn to the toys, which was a great distraction for the short time we were waiting. It backfired a little, though, when she wanted to continue playing with the toys instead of moving to the chair to start her haircut. We compromised and let her take a toy with her to the salon chair.
I assumed she’d want nothing more than to sit in one of the cars or planes while her hair was being cut, but unfortunately, there was a little boy screaming his head off while getting his hair cut in one of the cars, and it freaked her out. So…no car for Adelaide. It’s too bad. They were super cute! Instead, she got to sit on daddy’s lap while her hair was cut. She was thrilled! Daddy wasn’t too excited about all of the hair and water and sparkles HA! He’s a good sport.
She did very well! Sat mostly still so her hair could get snipped and shaped. I got totally choked up watching her hair, the hair she was born with, her tiny baby hair, get cut off and fall on the floor. Luckily I had my camera to distract me—I was snapping pictures (as Matt put it) like a Japanese tourist.
Her hair turned out so cute! Complete with “princess braids” and sparkles! She’s already asking for another haircut, haha!
I'd love to hear what you think!
