My baby girl is 8 weeks old today! I guess that’s also two months old…even though the 28th is still 5 days away…meh, whatevs.
Some things about Cadence from this last week:
- She hates the car. I don’t think you heard me. She H!A!T!E!S! the car. Every car ride this last week had Cadence screaming her head off for at least 15 minutes of the drive. It was awesome because most or trips in the car are only 10 or 15 minutes. She’s never really loved the car, but this week we hit a new low. I have no idea what is so offensive to her. I checked her seat/belts/clothes to make sure nothing was rubbing/poking/pressing, but I didn’t find anything. She won’t take her paci, she just screams. All I can do is turn on the static station and drive as
fastsafely as possible to our destination. UPDATE: I grabbed our white noise machine (aka Sleep Sheep) this morning when I went out to run some errands and it was magical! She slept the whole time! No screaming at all!! I’ll be using the Sleep Sheep on all car rides until it is no longer useful!!!
- She finally sleeps in her swing! For a long time, Cadence didn’t enjoy being in her swing. But I tried it again this week with her and she loves it! Ive been using it for her naps during the day, which has been wonderful! I hope this continues!
- Cadence has settled into an evening/night time routine. She is super fussy from 9-12 then she finally passes out and sleeps for 4-6 hours. She wakes up to eat between 4 and 6am then falls back asleep until 8ish. I can live with that! However, I’m sure all of it will be different next week… If there’s one thing that’s certain about babies, it’s that nothing stays the same for long.
- Cadence has REALLY started paying attention to us. She tracks us around the room, and when Adelaide’s around, Cadence looooooves to watch her. There have been some very sweet moments this week when Cadence is just locked onto Adelaide, watching her every move. I love my girls!
- Family friends from my childhood, Kirsten, Carolyn and Carolyn’s daughter, Kayley, stopped by on their drive from California to Washington to meet Cadence. It’s always so much fun to introduce Cadence to her “extended family”.
Here are some pictures of Cadence from this past week:
I'd love to hear what you think!
