These non-candy valentines are easy, affordable and so cute! I’m excited to share them with you, along with the free printable bag topper, so you can make them too!
Supplies
We bought gliders and cellophane bags from Oriental Trading Company. They have free shipping promotions pretty regularly, but you have to watch for them well in advance of when you’ll need your supplies!
I also splurged on some red staples—it’s the little things 😉
The free printable bag topper reads, “Your just PLANE sweet, Valentine!”. It’s free to download and print as many copies as you need!
Print the bag toppers on bright white card stock for the best results.
Be sure to have your kids sign their name to the tags before you attached them to the bags—it’s easier when the paper is flat!
To assemble these airplane valentines, add the airplane parts to the bag, fold the paper tags in half and place over the top of the bags, then staple them in place.
That’s all there is to it!
It was such an easy DIY Valentine—we had no trouble making 30 of them for my daughter’s classmates and teachers.
It was so much fun seeing the kids tear open the bags, and build their airplanes. Yes, there were tiny airplanes whizzing around the classroom, but I’ll take physical play over a pile of candy any day 😉
I’d love to see what you do with this free printable valentine! Tag me on Instagram—@thecaterpillaryears.
