For as long as Adelaide has had hair (aka, since she was born) we’ve been using hair clips to keep her hair in place and out of her face. My friend Nicole, introduced me to these ribbon covered alligator clips when Adelaide was 18 months, and they’re so effective we’ve been using them ever since!
I’ve made my own, on occasion, but honestly, the gals who make and sell these on Etsy are so much better at making them than I am. I like to buy a bunch of them at the beginning of the school year, and replenish in the spring when we’ve inevitably lost half of them. (If someone has figured out a way to keep kids from taking hair clips out of their hair, PLEASE let me know!)
This year I bought our back-to-school hair clips from Victoria at Leia Luna Boutique.
I’m a sucker for polkadots so I LOVE how Victoria paired polkadot bows with plain ribbon on her hair clips. The quality of her clips are what I’ve come to expect from a professional, and her prices are fantastic! Plus, the color combinations she puts together are irresistible!

These are too ADORABLE! My Addie finally has hair long enough for something like this, although lately she finds it funny to put clips and headbands on her little brother. Bribery goes a long way, I’m sure she’d keep these in her hair if a gummy bear was in her near future
