I had so much fun planning Adelaide’s princess party, so I wanted to give a more in-depth look at some of the details that went into her party.
The theme was Princesses and Knights and I purposefully tried my best to keep it generic (NOT Disney…). This allowed so much more freedom with decorations and activities.
My party planning always starts with the invitations. My amazing husband gave me a Silhouette Cameo (cutting tool) for my birthday in December, so Adelaide’s party invitations were the perfect reason to really stretch myself and see what I could come up with. I’m so thrilled with how it turned out!
After the invitations were done, I settled on the color pallet of mint, two-shades of pink (one light one dark) and glittery gold to accent the party details. SUCH a fun color pallet to work with! Here’s how the colors integrated into the party:
The party was scheduled from 3-5 in the afternoon—a time slot that gave me the freedom to offer light snacks and an assortment of beverages. Here’s what was on the table:
- Raspberry Macaron Cookies – Made them at home with this recipe
- Cupcakes – Thanks Betty Crocker!
- Yogurt with berries – in these darling little cups
- Pirate’s Booty
- Raspberry Lemonade – Found this drink dispenser and love it!
- Blueberry Lemonade – Same as my Frozen Lemonade recipe
- Iced Tea
The drink area was serve-yourself, with stacks of clear plastic cups adorned with gold crown stickers, lids and festive paper straws with gold glitter flags. I found the paper plates and napkins from Meri Meri.
I made the cupcake and macaron stands from plates and candlesticks at IKEA.
And that cute framed print that says “Your birthday is the happiest day of my life” can be found here.
I set up a little photo back-drop using a sheer curtain and circle paper garland. Then added a bucket filled with tutus, knights armor and some photo props including the letter “A”, a gold crown and an empty white photo frame. It turned out super cute and prompted some very fun photos!
Out of everything though, the goody bags were my favorite thing to put together. I tried really hard to think of things that wouldn’t make the other parents groan (you know what I mean!), so here’s what went into each bag:
- Homemade coloring book – Read the DIY post
- Custom crayon box with four crayons each – Free Printable here
- Glitter Play Dough – Find the recipe here
- Glitter hair clips – I made these, but here is a similar listing on Etsy
- Bubbles – Found in the wedding favor aisle at Hobby Lobby, then I made custom labels
There is one decoration that is still up in our house, a week-and-a-half after the party. This little sticker/label:
We have three identical doors in our hallway, so this sticker helped party guests find the most important room in that hallway. It also taught Adelaide and Cadence a new word—restroom. They erupt into a fit of giggles every time they say, “I’m going to use the restroom!”. Restroom, what a silly word 😀
So there you have it! Party details! Stay tuned for DIY posts about the goody bags and if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below and I’ll answer asap!

Do you have a template for the bubble labels? I am interested in doing the same thing! I love your ideas; they look amazing. Thanks so much!

Hi Mio! Each label for the bubbles is 1.0675″ x 4.375″. I’ve made my Royal Bubbles label available for download from this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ugw9337gdzp8iu/RoyalBubbleLabels.pdf?dl=0
Hope that helps!!

So cute! I love your ideas. Where did you get the gold crown stickers from?
Heather says
Hi Daisha! Thank you! I actually made those crown stickers using my Silhouette Cameo and Silhouette’s Gold Foil Sticker paper. I have some extra sheets of gold foil, so if you’d like, I can cut set up a listing in my Etsy shop for some crown stickers. Email me if you’re interested: [email protected]
