Yesterday was Adelaide’s last day of preschool.
I can’t believe it! I feel like we just started school! We sorta did…her first day wasn’t until October because of our whole relocation, but still! My baby is off to kindergarten now. And actually, she can’t wait. She was literally in tears because she has to wait nine whole weeks before she can go to kindergarten. LOL! I’m going to remind her of this when she’s 15 and complaining that summer break is too short.
Her graduation ceremony was last week, at which her teacher had this to say:
“Adelaide, our brilliant giggle-box. Some how your sunshine shines through everything you touch and you remember everything you learn and giggle all the way through.”
It’s so fun seeing your kids through someone else’s eyes 🙂
Since last week was all pomp and circumstance, this week at school was all FUN DAYS! The kids got to play outside all day on both Tuesday and Thursday this week, with exciting water and sensory activities. She had a blast!
The sadness of leaving such a wonderful group of teachers and classmates is softened by some already-planned, summer activities—her birthday party next weekend will be a fun class reunion, and a week after that there is a pool party for the class, hosted by another classmate. It’s already shaping up to be a fun filled summer!
I took photos of Adelaide on her first day of preschool, so of course, I had to take a few on her last day. It’s amazing to see how much she’s grown and changed in such a short amount of time (8 months).
Congratulations my sweet Adelaide! You rocked preschool and I’m so excited for everything you get to learn and experience next year in kindergarten!

I can’t believe Addie is about to start kindergarten! She’s such a ray of sunshine and I know that she’s going to thrive – and, hey, maybe she’ll still be longing for school by the time high school comes around. 🙂 Love to all of you.
