While we were busy moving our family to a whole new state, Cadence hit the 10 month milestone!
This kid is a trooper, though she proved to be decidedly more difficult than our last traveling adventure, when she was six months old. This time, she was in the middle of growing teeth. Ouch!
Let’s see, in my 9 month post, we had just discovered Cadence’s first tooth. Now she has three whole teeth—both upper laterals (fangs) and one lower front. She also has three more teeth that are allllllllmost through her gums—her second lower front tooth and both upper front teeth. This kid is popping teeth out left and right, and she is as cranky as ever because of it! Poor thing….
I don’t think I saw her army crawl once this past month—it’s all hands and knees crawling for this girl now! And cruising. She loooooooves to stand on anything and everything and she’s even tried standing while holding nothing at all!
She’s figured out how to hold something in her hand and crawl with it. This is her favorite thing to do in our new place, which has the living room separated from the play area. We always end the day with a handful of toys that she’s moved from one room to the other.
Her complexion is still very orange, even though we’ve eliminated almost all of the sweet potatoes and carrots from her diet. We’ve nicknamed her our little Oompa-Loompa. UPDATE: Matt just informed me that one of the vitamins in dark green veggies also turns babies orange…so my “solution” of feeding her heavy amounts of green beans, broccoli, zucchini and spinach has completely backfired. humpf…
She continues to love finger foods that are carbohydrates (anything in cracker or bread form) and hate any finger foods that are slimy or squishy (fruits and veggies). On the upside, she’ll eat just about anything thats pureed!
She is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper vocal. She yells at the top of her lungs when she wants something. It’s ear-splitting. Not my favorite development from this month. I’m hoping this will pass like most other things.
She’s figured out how to “object” to her sister. When Adelaide does something that Cadence doesn’t like, Cadence knows she just has to yell or start to cry and Adelaide stops immediately/mommy or daddy intervenes. This is both hilarious and troublesome. It will be interesting to see the dynamic between these two and they continue to grow.
Since her teeth started coming in, her sleeping has gotten a lot more erratic. She still takes two naps/day, goes to bed around 7:30pm and wakes up between 7 and 8 am. In between 7pm and 7am, though, she will wake up 1-4 times a night. Ugh! Needless to say, I haven’t been sleeping much.
All of my onesie making stuff is still packed in a box somewhere (priorities people!) so this month, I snapped some pictures of her at our neighborhood park.
Happy 10 months baby girl!
I'd love to hear what you think!
