Did you have a happy Easter? We sure did!
Adelaide dyed and decorated eggs for the first time! Right after brunch, we set up the dye cups and showed her the process. She had fun putting the eggs in the cups and she only broke one egg! The stickers (to put on the eggs after they dried) were also a big hit. The only problem was that we ran out of eggs! I hard boiled 18 eggs, because I figured that’s all our little family could eat before they go bad, but I read about one mom letting her kids dye uncooked eggs, since those have more uses than their hard boiled counterpart. That might be a good plan for next year!
We were soooo lucky to get AMAZING weather for our Easter Sunday! And that meant that we could do our egg hunt outside! When Adelaide got up from her nap, we told her that the Easter Bunny stopped by and left her a basket of goodies. She was thrilled! The Easter Bunny gave her some fun new toys as well as new jammies from Grandma and Papa Bauer. She tore through her basket and then we directed her to the backyard where she could find all of the eggs the Easter Bunny left for her.
In the backyard, Adelaide found three of the biggest eggs she’s ever seen and a note from the Easter Bunny explaining that when he was in Texas hiding eggs at Grandma and Papa Bauer’s house, they asked him to bring these eggs to Portland and give them to Adelaide. Haha!
She really grabbed on to this concept of the bunny visiting her house. She asked to go out into the front yard to see the Easter Bunny’s car (since he came over, he must have brought a car!). We explained that the Easter Bunny hops all over the world, he doesn’t drive, and that seemed to satisfy her.
And yes, she’s already asking for another egg hunt! I think I know what I’ll be doing all week…
